Residential Water Service Rates

Monthly Base Water Rate: $19.67 per month for every household

Water Usage Rates: Here at Cottonwood we have 3 tiers of water rates. Generally, here’s how tiered water rates work. If you are like most people in the area and are water efficient (i.e. don’t overwater your lawn, fix water leaks, use some Xeriscape principles, shut off irrigation during wet periods), you will pay less per gallon of water than those who use excessively. While the majority of the District’s customers DO use water responsibly, those using very high amounts of water will pay more per gallon than those using average water levels.

Tier 1: For every 1,000 gallons of water (up to 100% of your allocation) the rate is $3.80 per 1,000 of gallons. Use the calculator to determine your allocation.

Tier 2: Once your household reaches its water allocation for the month, any additional water used is billed at a rate of $7.60 per 1,000 gallons up to 150% of your household’s water allocation. Use the calculator to determine your allocation.

Tier 3: Should your household use more than 150% of its allocated water every 1,000 gallons above that amount will be billed at a rate of $11.40 per 1,000 gallons. Use the calculator to determine your allocation.

Outdoor (Irrigation) Water Allocation by Month for All Households
